Why Businesses Choose 3CX For Their Communications

At Carden Telecoms, we supply a variety of VoIP solutions to businesses looking to reduce the costs of their communications while also gaining increased functionality and up to date features missing from their existing phone systems.

3CX is one of the most popular VoIP options that Carden Telecoms provides. In this blog we’re going to go over some of the features and improvements that our customers have benefitted from since switching their communications over to 3CX.

What is 3CX?

3CX is a software-based, open-standard VoIP phone system based on the SIP protocol. It is compatible with a variety of devices and comes with an online browser extensions and mobile apps.

What Platforms is 3CX Available On?
3CX has a fully functional standalone desktop app but can also run as a web-based application. In addition to using 3CX on a desktop or laptop, you can also use 3CX’s iPhone and Android apps. Using the app versions allows you to carry your work phone number with you at all times when you are away from the office without needing to physically carry a second company mobile phone with you. Having your office number with you at all times means you’ll never miss that vital phone call because you were commuting on the train or happened to be away from your desk when a client called. When you want to be truly “offline” you can set your status to busy within the 3CX app.

Can I Make Calls To and From Regular Phones On 3CX?
Yes, Carden Telecoms can provide you with both a licence for 3CX itself, and an SIP trunk to connect your copy of 3CX to the wider phone network.

Because 3CX is based on the SIP standard, it can create and manage connections using SIP Trunks. An SIP Trunk is a method of creating and terminating voice and data connections via the internet. Carden Telecoms can connect channels to your PBX via SIP Trunks, allowing you to make land line, mobile, and international calls over the internet. The SIP Trunk is a virtual connection that runs over a standard broadband internet connection between your 3CX system and the wider telephone network.

What Are The Advantages of Using 3CX VoIP

  • Advanced Features
3CX has a host of advanced features not found on a standard phone system. Features like auto attendants which provide multi-level menus to direct calls to the right team member or department, and hunt groups which allow multiple phones in a department to ring simultaneously.
  • Call Recording
3CX has the ability to record all incoming and outgoing calls and stores those recordings online in an easy-to-use database. This makes finding a particular call simpler and checking the quality of calls easier for supervisors.
  • Easy To Use Customer Portal
You can control all aspects of your 3CX software across your entire organisation from a single, easy to use customer portal. Add users, change passwords, add upgrades, and more all within a few clicks.
  • Built In Contact Centre
The contact centre function empowers your employees to offer a first-class customer experience by combining all the information and expertise about a client’s history in a single, simple system.
  • Easy Call Forwarding
3CX has advanced call routing and call reporting features. Call forwarding is easier than ever with users able to easily access a drop-down list of all employees and forward the call with a single click. This is a marked improvement over traditional office phone systems which required you to either memorise dozens of extensions or constantly refer to a physical list of printed extensions.
  • No Need To Purchase Additional Hardware
Like all VoIP phone systems, there is no need to purchase any additional hardware. Users that prefer a physical handset can still connect one, but even a simple pair of headphones with a built-in mic is all that is required to use 3CX.
  • CRM Integration
3CX integrates with many of the most popular CRM tools in the business, keeping all your information in one place and removing the need to update both contact directories separately when customer information changes. HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Zendesk, and more, can all be integrated with 3CX directly.
  • Security
3CX features industry-leading security technology. It offers a secure SSL login as well as a dedicated backup and restore feature. This ensures that files and business-critical data is not lost in the event of a network outage.
